Milan Week 14-19/4 2010
31 March 2010Of course, we will also be exhibiting at Salone Internazzionale del Mobile from 14-19 April 2010. It’s our way of telling the world about the contemporary Swedish furniture tradition. Milan Week is without doubt the world’s most important meeting place for everyone who works with furniture, lighting, and home or office interior design. The event is usually both inspiring and overwhelming in equal measure. Do drop in to see our new products and maybe also enjoy an espresso, pavilion 12, stand E:06.
WOOD
DESIGN ÅKE AXELSSON
26 February 2010
Wood is made from beech from sustainably managed forests. The components are made with a traditional steaming technique that uses a minimal amount of wood. Wood is packed disassembled in a recyclable cartonboard in order to reduce transport volume and thereby carbon dioxide emissions. Wood is lightweight and comfortable and meets the highest requirements for both product durability and environmental sustainability. Wood is available in untreated or waxed beech, or with a ecolabelled stain in black, white, dark brown or red. The back can be upholstered in a choice of vegetable tanned
leather, sheepskin or cotton canvas.
KVILT EASY CHAIR AND SOFA
DESIGN NINA JOBS
26 February 2010
Kvilt was shown as a prototype in 2009 at the Stockholm Furniture Fair and Salone del Mobile in Milan. We now present Kvilt as an easy chair and sofa. During the two-year development process, we worked with Nina Jobs to achieve an attractive and comfortable easy chair and sofa of high quality and with a long lifespan. We placed great importance on the design of the wadding and the upholstering process. Kvilt can appear very different thanks to the range of available quilting patterns and the varied combinations of
textiles and leathers. We have chosen to present Kvilt in an exclusive material, Alcantara, and in a cotton canvas. The sofa legs are in solid, turned ash wood. The sofa cover is removable and comes with Velcro strips and a zipper.
MOTION
DESIGN MONICA FÖRSTER
26 February 2010
A bench in natural birch or stained. Available in a right- or left-sided version. When the benches are joined, the resulting asymmetrical form creates a wave movement that runs along the wall. Motion has a strong, playful presence and suits many different environments.
DRESS SOFA
DESIGN ANNA VON SCHEWEN
26 February 2010
The Dress sofa is a complement to last year’s launch of the Dress easy chair. The sofa is recognisable by the draped look of its pleated upholstery and by its concave “waistline”. Dress is compact, offers good seating comfort, and functions as a beautiful room divider thanks to its
pleated back. Dress is covered in Scuba or Lucca, two fabrics from Kvadrat or leather. Different fabrics can be used on the outside and inside of the sofa.
BUTTON II
DESIGN PIERRE SINDRE
26 February 2010
Easy chair, frame in natural ash or stain. Back and armrests in moulded felt, also available in leather. Seat covered in fabric or leather. BUTTON II , an elegant and confortable easy chair. The exciting encounter between
two materials gives the easy chair a contemporary, innovative look. A easy chair for different occasions and meetings!

Chair and armchair in natural or stained ash. Seat in fabric or leather. An elegant, well made chair in a classical timeless model with a high level of craftsmanship. The seat’s innovative solution with a shaped felt cushion and

Stockholm City Law Courts
25 January 2010For the major renovation and extension of the Stockholm City Law Courts, the Swedish National Courts Administration chose furniture from Gärsnäs.
During 2009 we supplied about 3,000 chairs and tables to various parts of the building, where work was completed in the autumn of 2009.
Wood
25 January 2010A chair for the future
This chair takes up very little space when unassembled. By saving 80 to 90 per cent of an ordinary chair’s transport volume, Wood also spares the environment from large amounts of carbon dioxide, packaging materials and storage space. Wood’s components are bent with a traditional steaming technique that uses a minimal amount of wood. The wood used is local red beech with from sustainably managed forests. The chair is constructed to last for many years – another benefit to the environment. Concept and form: Åke Axelsson.
